About Us

Alesia and Robert, the founders of Tigger's Haven, received a phone call about a little orange kitten who was found in someone's garage.  The finders knew Alesia had previously done transport for some rescues across Florida and had a heart for animals.  They did not know what to do with the dirty kitten, who was covered with fleas and clearly had eye infections. Alesia drove out to their home in Cape and picked up the kitten.  The kitten was only about 3 weeks old and still needed the care of a mother, so Alesia and her family bottle-fed the kitten and nursed it back to health.  They named the kitten Tigger.  The people who found Tigger shared Alesia's information with another couple who found a kitten, and this eventually led to the founding of Tigger's Haven.  

Tigger now lives comfortably in his home with his adopted brother and brings joy to the lives of everyone he comes in contact with, including his owner's 9-year-old grandson. Happy, safe, loving furrever homes are the reason Alesia and her fiancé, Robert, founded Tigger's Haven.

Each animal in our rescue longs for their furrever home and is excited to meet their person. When you find an animal you would like to adopt, please fill out our adoption application.  This application will allow us to get to know you and ensure the animal you are interested in fits what you are looking for in a pet. We want to find the best possible furrever home for each of our pets, so there are some requirements that must be met in order to adopt from us:

You must be 21 or older to adopt.

In the interest of finding stable homes for each of our pets, we will call to verify veterinary references and possibly require additional information to verify with landlords and/or HOA's.

Like most not-for-profit rescues, we rely on adoption fees and donations we collect.  Adoption fees will help to cover the cost of veterinary care, food and shelter for the pets in our care.  Our adoption fees are:

    Kittens (2-6 months): $135

      Adult Cats (6 months - 7 years): $100

     Senior Cats (7 years and older): $65

We are a foster-based rescue.  This means that we do not have a standing shelter (all of our cats are in homes).  While this comes with many benefits, such as knowing the cat's temperament and knowing what the cat likes and dislikes, it also means that we rely heavily on our fosters.  For this reason, our fosters are like family.

Tigger's Haven is a compassionate, foster-based cat rescue dedicated to providing a safe refuge for abandoned, abused, and owner-surrendered cats. Our rescue is named in honor of a beloved rescue cat, Tigger, whose spirit of resilience and affection continues to inspire the mission. 

Tigger's Haven emphasizes a no-kill philosophy and prioritizes rehabilitation, enrichment, and permanent placement. Each cat receives individualized care, medical treatment, and plenty of love from volunteers and foster families.
